A biologist by vocation and training, she divides her interests between Flora and Mycobiota (Funga), and the forest environment is what fascinates her most and has motivated her to carry out research, scientific dissemination and university extension work. Professor at the Department of Biology at the University of Évora, she teaches what she knows in the hope of instilling scientific curiosity and a solid ecological conscience in those who listen to her. Responsible for the MacroMycology Laboratory (MED), she guides and conducts studies ranging from the diversity, conservation and management of Mycological Resources to Mycorrhizal Synthesis between plants and fungi, aiming at both the production of edible mushrooms and the recovery of degraded areas.
