Rita Martins, 39 years old, born in Azambuja, with a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Beira Interior, in Covilhã. In addition to research, I had a wide range of professional activities in business and educational contexts. I joined CEBAL in 2016, to develop the area of knowledge and technology transfer, materializing interface actions with companies and the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge. In 2018, I took over the coordination of the CEBAL´s Technology Transfer Center. Progressively, I focused my activity on Science Communication and the Social Impact of Science, assuming, in 2023, the leadership of the Science Communication and Scientific Literacy department at MED-CEBAL. I use Communication to promote a greater involvement of Society with Science, especially among children and adolescents. My research interests include Science Communication processes in inland territories, as well as its application in formal and non-formal educational contexts in the promotion of academic success in children and adolescents, and the acquisition of scientific literacy skills. I am also very interested in the processes of monitoring and evaluating the Social Impact of Science.
