Mariana Patanita has completed the master's degree in Biological Engineering on 14/06/2018 by Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisboa. Attends the PhD in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Évora since 02/09/2019, supported by FCT with a PhD scholarship. M. Patanita's core interests are in agrarian sciences, particularly on plant protection and plant pathology, and has been dedicated to the study of endophytic and pathogenic fungi in important Mediterranean crops, focusing on the understanding plant-pathogen interactions for the development of new tools for prevention, diagnosis, and biological control. M. Patanita is a researcher at the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED), University of Évora, and at the Global Change & Sustainability Institute (CHANGE) Associate Laboratory, working in the Plant Virology and Mycology Laboratories of MED/UÉvora. M. Patanita has authorship of 13 peer-reviewed publications in indexed scientific journals and has published 2 articles in technical journals and 2 book chapters, translating into an h-index of 9 in Scopus. Over the years, she has participated in both national and international meetings with 8 oral presentations and 26 poster presentations, and has contributed to the submission of 2 patents that are currently awaiting approval. Furthermore, M. Patanita has participated in 11 projects, 2 of them as a Research Fellow, and has received a total of 6 awards. Finally, M. Patanita also co-supervises 2 MSc theses and has participated in 1 academic degree jury.
