Full researcher at Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences – CICS.NOVA.UÉvora and and researcher at Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED-UÉ). Graduated in Bioengineering (a five-year degree course) at University of Évora. Master in Regional and Urban Planning by Technical University of Lisbon, final thesis on Multicriteria applied to Strategic Planning at the Local Level. PhD also in Regional and Urban Planning by UTL/Instituto Superior Técnico, thesis on Multicriteria Strategic Environmental Assessment. Professor at the UE since 1993, teaches different subjects related with Landscape and Land Use Spatial Planning, at different intervention scales (from local to European) and perspectives, to three years degree courses (such as Geography or Ecology and Environment), Master courses in Landscape Architecture and Conservation Biology and PhD Courses. Author and co-author of several publications. Coordination and participation in several research projects. Supervisor of several Master and PhD thesis.
