Develops and coordinates scientific work in the fields of:

A) Sustainable agriculture, lines of action: i) Abiotic stress, its influence on Yield, nutritional and functional value, and conservation index of horticultural products.

B) Biochemical Toxicology and Environment, lines of action: ii) Effects of metals, metal nanoparticles, phenylureas, triazines, and organochlorine compounds on the survival of yeasts; iii) Characterization of sea lamprey populations from Portuguese river basins using stress and biotransformation markers; iv) Functional characterization of stress enzymes with application in medicine; v) Stress and biotransformation in mammals, its dependence on the stage of development, gender, diet, and xenobiotics exposure.
