She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Évora (2012) and a degree in Biology Applied to Marine Animal Resources from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (1998). She develops research activities in biodiversity conservation, ecological quality, restoration and adaptation of freshwater ecosystems to climate change, as well as in statistical analysis applied to ecology. She has participated in aquatic ecology and limnology projects, mainly focused on the conservation and restoration of Mediterranean temporary rivers, ecological flows, and biotic integrity indicators, being part of the team implementing the Water Framework Directive in mainland Portugal. She also integrated the team for Management Plans of classified areas of the Natura 2000 Network and projects aimed at promoting biodiversity and river restoration, particularly in water scarcity scenarios. Since April 2023, she is a senior technician at the Department of Biology of the University of Évora, responsible for the management of biological collections.
