Nuno M. Pedroso is a biologist and researcher, with a PhD in Biology/Ecology from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon and a Master in Environmental Management and Policies from the Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon.

His main scientific interests are mammal ecology and conservation. He has participated in several scientific projects and publications addressing the effects of human intervention on biodiversity conservation and policies to offset these impacts. He has specialised in the influence of anthropogenic environments on the ecology of semi-aquatic mammals. He has also worked on Mediterranean Pond Conservation, and on the topic of road ecology, on the implementation of various actions regarding the mitigation of the negative effects of transport and energy infrastructures on wildlife.

He is the author of more than 50 scientific and outreach publications.

He has experience in the private sector, academia and non-governmental organisations, in the context of conservation, environmental policy and project management.

In the last years, he has been working in the area of Science Management and Cooperation, being currently the Executive Director of MED - Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development, R&D Unit, based at the University of Évora.
