Graduated in Animal Production Engineering (1989), completed a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics (1994) and completed a PhD in Management in 2003 from the University of Évora. In 2012 obtained the Aggregate degree from the University of Algarve in Innovation and Territorial Management. She is an Assistant Professor with Aggregation at the University of Algarve. The scientific activity has always focused on the area of ​​agricultural planning, agricultural policy and its consequences in rural areas, particularly taking into account the Common Agricultural Policy evolution. From a methodological point of view, it is worth highlighting the mathematical programming models applied to the specific conditions of agricultural companies and rural territories, particularly highlighting the use of natural resources and the influence of agricultural policy, mainly in Alentejo and the Algarve. Also worth highlighting are the applications of Compromise Programming to solve multi-objective problems, integrating economic and environmental objectives, and the applications of maximum entropy theory to estimate the occupation of agroforestry surface in conditions of incomplete information.
