NEGHTRA Project promote dissemination action in fruit and vegetable company within the scope of a visit by Agronomy students from UÉvora
In the frame of the courses Precision Agriculture, Environmental Control and Greenhouses Technologies, the students of the Master in Agriculture Engineering and the degree in Agronomy visited on the 25th November the company Frutas Patrícia Pilar, Lda located in Torres Vedras. The Patrícia Pilar group is a family business dedicated to the production and processing of fruits and vegetables, created with the goal of supplying the national and international market. The study visit began at the processing and distribution centre, where all post-harvest processing is carried out. The visit finished with a visit to the 16 ha complex of greenhouses, where students had the opportunity to learn about the infrastructure and the production process, as well as some technologies used in the production of tomatoes in greenhouses. The visit also included an action to disseminate the NEGHTRA Project – Next Generation Training on Intelligent Greenhouses, coordinated in the University of Évora (partner of the project) by Fátima Baptista, Researcher in MED and Professor in the Rural Engineering Department of the University of Évora.
