Kick-off Meeting TransforMED project
The Kick-Off Meeting of the TransforMED project took place in Meknès (Morrocos) on 26 and 27 September. The University of Évora, through MED, is part of the consortium of this project funded by the Prima Programme, which aims to contribute to the transformation of the Mediterranean region through agroforestry by restoring degraded areas of land on a large scale, overcoming socio-economic and socio-cultural barriers to the adoption of agroforestry systems. In this context, the research team led by researcher Mª Helena Guimarães is responsible for the project, which explores a payment model for ecosystem services, with a results-based approach in a Mediterranean context with case studies in the three countries that make up TransforMED: Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey.
