VI International Symposium on Pomegranate and Minor Mediterranean Fruits

the VI International Symposium on Pomegranate and Minor Mediterranean Fruits (POMSYM 2025) will be held in Bari (Puglia), Italy, between the 22nd and the 24th of September, 2025. The POMSYM 2025 symposium is open to all interested parties involved in the research, teaching, and extension community. The goal is to promote international cooperation and dissemination of the latest information regarding pomegranate and other minor fruits such as fig, carob, prickly pear, azarole, etc. Research topics address, among others, the following areas: archaeology and history, botany and physiology, germplasm and breeding, orchard management, harvest and postharvest, diseases and disorders, processing, health properties, food industry.

19th International RAMIRAN conference - Managing organic resources in agriculture: opportunities and challenges

The conference will focus on the management of organic residues and manures in agriculture. In the context of climate change and environmental pressure, safe and sustainable utilisation of existing and emerging organic resources becomes increasingly important, as is taking into account potential trade-offs or synergies. The conference will address the many facets of their application in agriculture.

Abstract submission for the 2025 edition will open in December 2024, and registration in April 2025. More info

XI Congresso Internacional da APDEA-Associação Portuguesa de Economia Agrária

O XI Congresso Internacional da APDEA-Associação Portuguesa de Economia Agrária realizar-se-á nos dias 22 a 24 de outubro de 2025 nas instalações do INIAV, em Oeiras.

Com o tema “A Agricultura no centro da Sustentabilidade: Ciência versus Demagogia”, o congresso tem como objetivo discutir o papel relevante da agricultura na promoção da sustentabilidade, baseado no conhecimento científico mais atual e confrontando mitos e perspetivas pouco fundamentadas. Ao reunir especialistas, investigadores, decisores políticos e agentes do setor, procuramos construir um entendimento sólido sobre como a agricultura pode ser um motor de sustentabilidade, enquanto navega por conflitos ideológicos.

A APDEA convida à participação neste evento através da submissão de resumos de trabalhos nas diversas áreas disciplinares e nos diferentes temas, encorajando os jovens investigadores e especialistas a apresentarem os seus trabalhos, alargando assim o debate que se revela tão importante no presente quanto nas decisões do futuro da agricultura.

Os melhores artigos serão publicados, em números especiais, na Revista de Economia e Sociologia Rural (RESR) e na Revista de Ciências Agrárias (RCA).
