IOC Executive Director visits UÉvora
In September, the Executive Director of the International Olive Oil Council (IOC), Jaime Lillo, visited the University of Évora as part of a wider mission to strengthen collaboration with Portuguese institutions linked to the olive oil sector. During the visit, discussions were held with the Rector of the University of Évora, Hermínia Vasconcelos, to formalise a Memorandum of Understanding, to promote deeper cooperation between the IOC and the University. In addition, the IOC expressed its interest in supporting the University of Évora’s Master’s programme in Oliviculture and Olive Oil, reinforcing the importance of the academic partnership for the advancement of the olive oil sector. Also present at the meeting were the Director of the MED, Fátima Baptista, the Pro-Rector for Support to UÉvora’s Scientific and Pedagogical Units, Augusto Peixe, and the Director of UÉvora’s Master’s programme in Oliviculture and Olive Oil, Raquel Garcia, both researchers at the MED.
