Miguel Bastos Araújo recognised by the British Ecological Society
The British Ecological Society’s 2024 Awards were announced today. MED researcher and professor at the University of Évora, Miguel Bastos Araújo, was recognised with the Marsh Award for Climate Change Research. The distinction is awarded for an outstanding contribution to climate change research.
This is one of many recognitions, such as the Pessoa Prize, for the vast work that the biogeographer has been carrying out in researching the impacts of climate change on biodiversity.
Miguel B. Araújo said that this award has a special meaning for him. ‘I have conducted the majority of my academic training in Britain, so being recognised by the British Ecological Society for my research holds a special significance for me.’, can be read on the British Ecological Society website.
