University of Évora Co-promoter of the BIOma Mobilizer Project
On July 1, 2020, the R&TD project “BIOma – Integrated BIOeconomics Solutions for the Mobilization of the Agrifood chain” started, in which the University of Évora is a co-promoter with the participation of Professors Fátima Baptista, Vasco Fitas da Cruz, José Rafael Silva and Patrícia Lourenço, Postdoc Researcher from MED – Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development and Agricultural Engineering Department, and Professor Rui Fragoso from CEFAGE and Department of Management.
The BIOma project brings together a broad consortium of 24 national entities within the agrifood sector and aims to address the themes of: 1) sustainability; 2) food waste; 3) valorization of by-products and agrifood residues; 4) traceability; 5) digital ecosystem.
UEVORA will participate in 3 of the 6 PPS, namely, PPS 1 siBIO: Digital sustainability assessment solution for the agrifood value chain; PPS 5 BIOecosystem: Bioeconomics solutions for the market through the Digital Innovation HUB ecosystem; and PPS 6: Management and dissemination of the BIOma project. This project has a duration of 36 months, ending on 06/31/2023.
